Rock That Bookkeeping: Financial Management and Best Practices for Etsy Teams

Join Molly Clarke, Finance Director of the Etsy NY Street Team, at the annual Etsy Canada Captains' Summit, as she discusses managing team finances and offers recommendations for best practices. Part 1 of the workshop is a high-level discussion using Molly’s experiences on the Etsy NY Street Team to show challenges that team treasurers may face and potential solutions to improving and streamlining team finances. Part 2 of the workshop is a more in-depth discussion on helping you refine the bookkeeping methods of your team through key best practices. Part 2 will cover helpful techniques for collecting member dues, budgeting, maintaining transparency, managing events, and seeking sponsorship for your team. There will also be advice on creating a solid business structure for your team, including the organization of your Board and the benefits of registering as a non-profit. By the end of this session you will have the tools you need to take your team’s finances to the next level!
